Annual Catholic Appeal
This Sunday we are invited by Bishop Soto to support his Annual Catholic Appeal. The funds from this appeal are used by him to support his seminarians and also the poor.
As your pastor, I ask entreat and urge all parishioners to participate in the Appeal, even if your contribution might be humble on account of financial difficulty. Bishop Soto has been extraordinarily supportive of our parish, especially in the recent trying years.
The Annual Appeal is an opportunity for us to show our gratitude to His Excellency, a successor of the apostles, who carries the very heavy responsibility of answering to Our Lord for us. Although the funds are ultimately directed to various ministries, the Appeal is a donation to the Bishop himself. I myself have already made a donation to the Appeal.
Donations can be made online. Make sure to indicate St. Stephen the First Martyr as your parish.
Boom Lift Projects
This Wednesday, February 25, we will have a knuckle boom lift at the parish in order to address several projects, namely:
- Clean the pendant lights in the parish hall
- Install the new track light system over the stations, angels, sanctuary, and choir loft.
- Install replacement crenellation on top of the altar.
- Install all Passiontide veil hardware.
We hope to complete all four projects on Wednesday. You may need to navigate around the boom lift for Holy Communion, especially at the noon Mass that day.
Parish Hall Remodel Begins
On Thursday, we will have a pre-construction meeting for the expansion and remodel of the parish hall restrooms. Construction will begin immediately, on Friday, February 27. During the (probably) two months of construction, the parish hall restrooms will be unavailable. The courtyard restrooms and classroom restrooms will remain in service. Thank you for your patience during the time of the remodel.
