Projects Update

1. Construction on the parish hall restrooms has begun and is in the abadement and demo phase. Please note that the water is shutoff to the parish hall until further notice. We hope to finish this project in eight weeks.
2. The courtyard restrooms are receiving a little attention to make their use more tolerable over the next couple of months: keycode locks have been installed, and we are installing can lights and a fresh coat of paint.
3. The track lights in the church have been removed and the underlying tracks replaced. These tracks have been repositioned to allow for greater flexibility with the placement of lights and to make ongoing maintenance easier. We are placing an order for the lights themselves, alongside a new dimmer, and expect that these should come in within 7-10 days. They will be installed shortly after they arrive.
4. The crenelations on the raredos have been repaired.
5. All hardware for the Passiontide veils has been installed, including the pulley system for the main crucifix.
6. The sliding gate on 28^th Ave has been installed. I am working towards cleaning up the concrete and grounds in the immediate area.
7. We have met with a concrete contractor to do extensive repairs to the sidewalk on 44^th St, which will include restoring the drainage piping that county had destroyed during some of their work.
8. Likewise, we are looking at installing some concrete islands in the designated no-parking areas of the parking lot, with street lamps. This should improve lighting in the parking lot and also help with traffic flow on Sundays.
9. We have moved towards a formal plan and estimate from a landscape architect to add pavers under the redwood trees in the picnic area to address the mud and dust that has plagued that area.
10. We are also asking for an estimate on a renovation of the playground.
11. The assisted listening system is installed and in the testing phase.
12. We have migrated the parish data systems from PDS to Parishsoft, a more modern, cloud-based alternatives which should make the work of staff easier and allow us much greater flexibility in administration of the parish.
13. We have catalogued all of our circuit panels, a project that took many days. All breakers are now clearly labelled with printed documents that can be edited and re-printed in the event of any changes.
14. The utility areas in the field and picnic area will be fenced in to keep children away from them. This is for the safety of the children but also to keep them from going behind the shed where supervision is difficult.
